Apple Series ‘Government Cheese

Bokeem Woodbine, Sunita Mani and Adam Beach are set to appear in the David Oyelowo-Directed series. Based on the short film of the same name by Paul Hunter, “Government Cheese” follows Hampton Chambers (Oyelowo), described as a man recently released from prison who struggles to keep his criminal past at bay and win back his family, all while processing moments of divine intervention that seem to happen with increasing frequency.


Marc Maron Joins Owen Wilson Golf Comedy Series at Apple TV+

Marc Maron has been cast alongside Owen Wilson in an upcoming untitled golf comedy series at Apple TV+. Wilson stars as Pryce Cahill, described as an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After he gets fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store and his wife walks out on him, Pryce hedges his bets entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom (Dager). Maron will star as Mitts, Pryce’s best friend and former caddy. Apple has given the show a 10-episode order.


Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ Renewed for Season 2 at Apple TV+

The first season of “Monarchy: Legacy of Monsters” starred Kurt and Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, John Goodman, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski.

Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ tracks two siblings (Sawai, Watabe) following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows.


Evil’ Final Season at Paramount+

The series is a psychological thriller that investigates the origins of evil and the church’s unexplained mysteries including demonic possession. Kristen, David and Ben continue to assess cases that involve wayward technology, possessed pigs, demonic oppression and infestation, a dance muse conjured by alleged witches and an evil relic.

The series stars Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, Aasif Mandvi, Michael Emerson, Kurt Fuller, Andrea Martin, Christine Lahti, Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco and Dalya Knapp.

The fourth and final season will premiere Thursday, May 23. Season 4 will include 14 episodes premiering weekly.


Murder in a Small Town’ on FOX

Paula Patton will guest star on an upcoming episode and will play Dr. Elizabeth Lewis, a brilliant and successful psychiatrist who arrives at the Gibsons Police Station offering insights that can help Karl Alberg (Rossif Sutherland) apprehend a dangerous fugitive murderer (one of Lewis’ former patients) who is believed to be hiding in the area.

Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk lead the show, which is based on a nine-book novel series by L.R. Wright. It follows a man who moves to a quiet Pacific Northwest coastal town to soothe a psyche that has been battered by big-city police work, but must solve murders that continue washing up on its seemingly idyllic shore.

Other guest stars include James Cromwell, Stana Katic, Mya Lowe, Savonna Spracklin, Aaron Douglas and Fritzy-Klevans Destine. The project marks Fox’s first scripted series co-produced with an international studio.
