New at Netflix Comedy A Classic Spy

Starring Ted Danson as a retiree named Charles who becomes a mole in a secret investigation. Based on The Mole Agent, a 2021 Oscar nominee for Best Documentary Feature, A Classic Spy is executive-produced by Mike Schur, Morgan Sackett, David Miner, Maite Alberdi, Marcela Santibañez, Julie Goldman and Christopher Clements.


The Last of Us Update

Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek) is officially joining the Season 2 cast of The Last of Us which is tentatively slated to return to HBO in 2025. More details around her role are not forthcoming at this time.


Ratched Not Returning to Netflix for Season 2

The prequel series about the life of asylum nurse Mildred Ratched (played by Sarah Paulson) set prior to the events of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, will not be returning to Netflix for a Season 2.


Anne Rice’s Interview With the Vampire will live again this spring, setting a Sunday, May 12 premiere date for Season 2 on AMC and AMC.


AMC’s Parish starring Giancarlo Esposito

Esposito plays Gracián “Gray” Parish, who takes a job as a driver for a shady criminal syndicate, which leads to him evading gunfire and disposing of dead bodies. He’s determined to turn the tables on the bad guys after his son is violently murdered and his business collapses, and an encounter with an old friend from his days as a wheelman resurfaces old habits, sending Gray on a high-stakes collision course with a violent criminal syndicate.

Along with Esposito, the cast includes Bradley Whitford (The Handmaid’s Tale), Skeet Ulrich (Riverdale), Zackary Momoh (The Nevers, Seven Seconds), Paula Malcomson (Ray Donovan), Bonnie Mbuli (Invictus), Ivan Mbakop (Hawkeye), Arica Himmel (Mixed-ish) and Dax Rey (The Good Fight).The six-episode series debuts Sunday, Mar. 31 at 10/9c on AMC.


Mayfair Witches Casting News

Thora Birch will play Gifford Mayfair, officially described as a self-deprecating tarot card reader and wannabe-bohemian who lately spends a lot of time at her lake house. Alyssa Jirrels (Fatal Attraction) will play the series-regular role of Moira Mayfair, a mind reader who holds her family and Lasher responsible for the death of her sister Tessa, and Ted Levine (Big Sky) will recur as Cortland’s “diabolical” father Julien Mayfair. Season 2 will air later this year on AMC and AMC+.


Animal Control Renewed for Season 3 at Fox

Starring Community‘s Joel McHale, the series follows a group of Animal Control workers whose lives are complicated much more by humans than the animals they encounter on the job. McHale’s Frank is an opinionated, eccentric ex-cop who got fired for trying to expose corruption in his department; the ensemble also includes Michael Rowland as Fred “Shred” Taylor; Vella Lovell as Emily Price; Ravi Patel as Amit Patel; Grace Palmer as Victoria Sands; and Gerry Dee as Templeton Dudge.


The Girls on the Bus Update

Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) plays Sadie McCarthy, a journalist who romanticizes the original ‘Boys on the Bus’ and who scrapped her whole life for her own shot at covering a presidential campaign for the paper of record. Sadie hits the trail and eventually bonds with three female competitors. Despite their differences, these women become a found family with a front-row seat to the greatest soap opera in town: the battle for the White House. The series will premiere Thursday, March 14, on Max with its first two episodes, followed by one new installment weekly through May 9.


Palm Royale AppleTV+ Premiering on Wednesday, March 20

Formerly known as Mrs American Pie, a true underdog story that follows Maxine Simmons (Kristen Wiig) as she endeavors to break into Palm Beach high society. As Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots, Palm Royale asks the same question that still baffles us today: ‘How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has?’ Set during the powder keg year of 1969, Palm Royale is a testament to every outsider fighting for their chance to truly belong.


Dreaming Whilst Black

Showtime and BBC has renewed the show for a second Season. The series, written by Ali Hughes and Adjani Salmon, follows Kwabena (Salmon), an aspiring filmmaker stuck in a dead-end recruitment job who takes the first step to achieving his dream of creating a TV show. Along the way, he is quickly confronted with the tribulations of balancing finances, love and his own sense of reality. Alongside Salmon, the series stars Dani Moseley (Brothers With No Game), Rachel Adedeji (Hollyoaks), Jessica Hynes (Shaun of the Dead) and Demmy Ladipo (We Are Lady Parts).


Outlander Prequel Blood of My Blood will focus on Jamie’s parents Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie in the early 18th-century Scottish Highlands and Claire’s parents Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp in WWI England. Jamie Roy (Condor’s Nest) will play Brian opposite Harriet Slater (Pennyworth) as Ellen, and Jeremy Irvine (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) and Hermione Corfield (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) will portray Henry and Julia, respectively. Production has commenced and a release date will be announced later this year.


Priscilla on Max Casting Update

Brenda Song is joining the cast of Netflix’s upcoming comedy from Mindy Kaling. The actress has joined the cast of the currently untitled workplace series starring Kate Hudson, who also serves as an executive producer. Song will play Ali Iee, Chief of Staff for the fictional Los Angeles Waves basketball team who’s known Isla (Hudson) since they shared a dorm in college and knows where the bodies are buried. The series centers on Isla, who is appointed president of the Waves; one of the most storied professional basketball franchises, after a scandal forces her brother to resign. Ambitious and often overlooked, Isla will have to prove to her sceptical brothers, the board, and the larger sports community that she was the right choice for the job, especially in the unpredictable, male-dominated world of sports. No release date as yet.


Lopez vs. Lopez Season airs April 2 at 8/7c on NBC

Lopez vs. Lopez tells the story of a working-class old-school Latino who moves in with his modern Gen Z daughter (played by Lopez’s real-life daughter, Mayan Lopez) as they rebuild their dysfunctional relationship one argument at a time. It’s old vs. new, father vs. daughter, Lopez vs. Lopez.


Loot Season 2 Update

Starring and executive produced by Emmy Award winner Maya Rudolph and featuring Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Nat Faxon, Ron Funches and Joel Kim Booster. Loot returns for Season 2 a year after Molly Wells’ (Maya Rudolph) very public divorce from tech billionaire John Novak (Adam Scott), where we find her thriving in her role as the head of her philanthropic organization the Wells Foundation. Focused mainly on her charity work, Molly has sworn off any new relationships with any new men. Fabulously single but not particularly independent, Molly’s trusty assistant Nicholas (Joel Kim Booster) remains by her side, diligently catering to her every whim and occasionally feeding her a kale smoothie spiked with gin. Season 2 will premiere on Wednesday, April 3 on Apple TV+

Based on M.O. Walsh’s novel, the show follows the residents of Deerfield as the Morpho machine readies them for the mysterious next stage. As everyone’s potentials are exchanged for visions, new relationships form and new questions are asked. Dusty and Cass decide to take time apart while Trina (Amara) and Jacob (Fourlas) learn that they can shed their old labels. Giorgio and Izzy each find romance while Hana and Father Reuben attempt to discover the purpose of the machine. The small town is once again left questioning what they thought they knew about their lives, relationships, potentials, and about the Morpho itself. Airing Wednesday, April 24 on AppleTV+

Airing on Apple TV+, premiering the first two episodes on Friday, June 14.
