Star Trek: Discovery spinoff  Casting News – Paramount+ announced that production has begun in Toronto on Star Trek: Section 31, a “movie event” starring Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh in the role of Emperor Philippa Georgiou. The TV-movie will find Georgiou tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, while also having to face the sins of her past. Star Trek: Section 31 in addition to Yeoh boasts Omari Hardwick (Power), Kacey Rohl (Hannibal), Emmy winner Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso, Veep), Sven Ruygrok (One Piece), Robert Kazinsky (EastEnders), Humberly Gonzalez (Ginny & Georgia) and James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry).

Abbott Elementary Adds Josh Segarra

The actor will recur during the upcoming third season, along with Kimia Behpoornia (Atypical) and Benjamin Norris (Never Have I Ever), all of whom will portray good-natured Philadelphia school district representatives who aim to bring fresh perspectives to their roles as school ambassadors.

Segarra is also known for playing Adrian Chase/Prometheus on Arrow, and appearing in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, The Big Door Prize, The Moodys, Orange Is the New Black, Chicago P.D. and Sirens.

Abbott Elementary Season 3 premieres Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 9/8c, with two back-to-back episodes.


Severance Season 2 in Production

The series stars Adam Scott as Mark, an employee at the mysterious Lumon where employees have undergone a surgical procedure known as severance, separating their work memories from their home memories. While at work, Mark has no idea what’s happening in his personal life, and vice versa. But when a former coworker approaches him at home with questions about Lumon, Mark starts to dig into what exactly his company is up to. Patricia Arquette co-stars as Mark’s Lumon boss Harmony Cobel, with Britt Lower as his rebellious new coworker Helly. John Turturro and Zach Cherry play Lumon employees Irving and Dylan, with Tramell Tillman as Cobel’s henchman Milchick.

Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development), Merritt Wever (Unbelievable), Bob Balaban (The Chair), Robby Benson (the voice of Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, American Dreams), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Missing, NOS4A2) and relative newcomer Stefano Carranante will also star.


The Recruit just made its first major casting addition for Season 2. Netflix’s action-thriller, which stars Noah Centineo as CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks, has added South Korean actor Teo Yoo to its roster of series regulars. Yoo’s character, Jang Kyun, is described as a clever and driven South Korean NIS agent, highly skilled with a subversive sense of humor and willing to go to any lengths to protect those he cares about. According to Netflix, the show’s second season finds Owen pulled into a life-threatening espionage situation in South Korea, only to realize that the bigger threat just might be coming from inside the Agency.Further casting news:

NBC announces Suits Spin Off – Suits: L.A

The spin-off follows a brand new character, Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.

Production on Suits: L.A. is slated to begin in late March in Vancouver, Canada.


Dave Not Returning for Season 4 at FXX

The hip-hop comedy starring Dave Burd will not return for a Season 4 at FXX. Dave Burd has decided to take an extended break to focus on music and other ventures.


Netflix Cancels Cobra Kai Creators’ Action-Comedy Obliterated After 1 Season

Obliterated followed an elite special forces team who thwarted a deadly threat to Las Vegas only to discover, after their debauchery-filled celebratory party, that the bomb they deactivated was a fake. Now intoxicated, the team was forced to fight through their impairments, overcome their personal issues, find the real bomb and save the world.

Shelley Hennig (Teen Wolf) and Nick Zano (Legends of Tomorrow) led the cast, along with C. Thomas Howell, Kimi Rutledge, Paola Lázaro, Terrence Terrell, Alyson Gorske and Eugene Kim.


Fight Night

Set in Atlanta on the night Muhammad Ali’s historic 1970 comeback, the show follows the heavyweight bout and criminal underground heist that introduced the world to the city dubbed the Black Mecca, and the cop and the hustler at the center of it all.

The upcoming Peacock limited series features acclaimed actress Taraji P. Henson as Vivian Thomas, Chicken Man’s (Kevin Hart) mistress and a shrewd businesswoman in her own right. Dexter Darden (Saved By The Bell) will portray Muhammad Ali. Terrence Howard, plays gangster and associate of the Council of 12 Richard “Cadillac” Wheeler; and Samuel L. Jackson takes on the role of notorious mobster Frank Moten, known by New York tabloids as the “Black Godfather.”


Colin From Accounts Season 2 at Paramount+

Colin From Accounts is centered on Ashley (played by American Auto’s Harriet Dyer) and Gordon (Evil’s Patrick Brammall), two single(ish), complex humans who, in Season 1, are brought together by a nipple flash, a car accident and an injured dog they name — Colin From Accounts. The cast features Emma Harvie (Frayed) as Ashley’s best friend Megan, Helen Thomson (Irreverent) as Ashley’s mother Lynelle, Genevieve Hegney (Young Rock) and Michael Logo (In Limbo) as Gordon’s coworkers Chiara and Brett, and Tai Hara (Home and Away) as Ashley’s ex-boyfriend James.


The Rookie Season 6

Danielle Campbell (of The Originals and Tell Me a Story) will fill the recurring guest star role of Blair, a psychiatrist for the LAPD, while Lisseth Chavez is now a series regular as Officer Celina Juarez.

Airing on ABC Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 9/8c, in the aftermath of the assaults they endured in the Season 5 finale, the Mid-Wilshire Division team must try to understand why they were targeted and if there is a bigger plan in place. Nolan (played by Nathan Fillion), meanwhile, must survive his last shift before his wedding to Bailey (Jenna Dewan).


9-1-1 Season 7 on ABC Thursday, March 14 (8/7c)

Bobby (Peter Krause) and Athena (Angela Bassett) set sail on a cruise which is in danger of sinking, Maddie and Chimney finally get married; Buck and Eddie exploring new romantic possibilities; and Hen and Karen expanding their family once again.


Hijack Season 2 at AppleTV+

Idris Elba stars as Sam Nelson, a corporate negotiator whose skills of persuasion are put to the test when an airplane he’s riding on is overtaken by armed hijackers. Season 1 unfolded in real-time across seven one-hour episodes. Archie Panjabi co-starred as counter-terrorism officer Zahra, with Ben Miles as the plane’s captain Robin Allen and Eve Myles as air traffic controller Alice.

Season 2’s synopsis is under wraps regarding what new situation unfolds for Sam Nelson and a release date has not yet been disclosed.
