Mum’s the Word

The FBI team attend a gala hosted by Blake Crawford. Roman tips them off that Jean-Paul is going to be there to do a secret deal – diamonds in exchange for a piece of land. The FBI send in Jane and Zapata and Avery – to work her connection to Blake and Hank Crawford, and then Roman meets with them to tell them where and when the meeting is going down. Roman and Jane argue about how she lost her brother and he accuses her of betraying whom she really is, and to his she’s still Remi and always will be.

He agrees to cut the security system so the FBI can record the meeting. Roman double crosses the FBI when he realises he doesn’t want to lose what he has with Blake and Crawford, and whisks them away by helicopter when the FBI swoop on the gala. Jean-Paul is fatally shot by Zapata but Crawford gets away.

On the helicopter, Roman has to explain himself, and as usual, spins it so Crawford understands what’s at stake. Blake gets a shock when she learns that Jean-Paul was a terrorist.
Roman is berated by Crawford because he failed to get rid of the FBI like he was asked to, weeks back.

Meanwhile, Zapata tells reade she won’t attend his wedding or be his Best Man, and he needs to explain why to Meghan.

The closing scene shows Roman sending a text message to a series of mercenaries – the kill order on the entire FBI Team. He’s chosen his new family over his old one.

When he opened up to her about himself, she discovered that he lives in Minnesota, and the light went out of her eyes. At least it took her attention off her project. Meredith and Jo re-imagined their project proposal.

April treated a Rabbi who then caused her to question her own faith.

Owen turned up on a shocked Teddy’s doorstep to announce that his marriage was over, which led to some undressing after a lot of kissing. Things soon went south, however, and then Owen was out for mistaking Teddy to be his plan B whenever his marriages fail.

The Noise

With this one of only four episodes left, Scandal has hit the home stretch, upping the pace of the drama. Let’s recap.

After the raid at QPA’s offices, Liv is on board to team up with her former friends to help bring Charlie home, but what they weren’t banking on was how far Cyrus would go with his campaign to become the next President of the United States.

As Cyrus closed ranks to protect his agenda, he sought out Jake to be his ally, and sent him in to finish off CharlieCyrus had drafted a statement for Charlie to sign which confirms Mellie as being behind the ‘assassination’ attempt on Cyrus by hiring Charlie to write the virus that caused the hijacking of Air Force 2. After Charlie repeatedly refused to sign anf got beaten up several times, Jake went in and set him straight – sign or Quinn dies for real this time. Charlie signed.

Mellie slept with Marcus.

The news broke that Mellie had been subpoenaed after the signed statement from Charlie was presented to the Special Prosecutor, Lonnie Makin. Meanwhile, QPA looked into Lonnie’s background. His son was gunned down right in front of him, and Lonnie has been against guns ever since, and has a real dislike/distrust of Mellie for being pro-guns.

Huck confided in Fitz that he can see the old Liv has returned, and the evil version of her is gone, and Fitz agrees. Marcus convinces Mellie that she needs Liv in her corner, and Mellie admited that she misses Liv being there for her.

Mellie summons Liv to meet her in the under the White House tunnels and instructs Liv to resume Command of B613 – and her first order of business is to kill Cyrus.

Artful Dodge

Dr Borden is alive and set about torturing his CIA handler on instructions from the terrorist cell he has infiltrated as a mole for the CIA. The draganfly tattoo was cracked by Rich dotcom who went straight to Paterson with the news. When Paterson gave the Team her briefing on the tattoo findings, Zapata had to confess to being Borden’s CIA handler.

Paterson was devastated that her best friend had lied to her for over a year, and says the two can never be the same again.

Reade has his friends tasting wedding cake samples in the conference room. It’s a little hard for Zapata to take.

Borden is caught on security camera dumping the CIA handler’s body in a dumpster right in front of the camera so the FBI would pick him up. He was caught out as the mole and now the terrorist cell are after him. He arranges to meet Zapata at the park but when she arrives the cell have sent men to kill Borden, and the FBI get to save Borden in time.

He’s brought back to the FBI and the story is revealed that the cell are planning a terrorist attack on U.S. soil and five cities have been targeted. The FBI uncover the cell’s location after an injured member talks to Borden and when Paterson cracks the encrypted files which Borden downloaded before fleeing, they have the location of the targets and the cell’s current position.

The FBI storm the cell’s location while Jane and Zapata disable the bomb.

Borden’s deal for co-operating with the FBI is torn up and he’s facing jail. The FBI Team have an investigator drop by to look into Rich dotcom’s progress since working with them a year ago, and she disapproves of his position, and sets about returning him to jail, but Reade and the Team step in with documented proof of how Rich has helped them solve cases. She agrees to hold off on his review, but then warns Reade that he should be more concerned about himself as he is under review too, seeing as Hirst was dirty and she hired him.

Meanwhile, Roman figures Crawford has him bugged, so he sends a photo of an invitation to Blake’s charity event with an encrypted message to the FBI Team signalling them that this is their chance to take down Crawford. While waiting to go to a meeting Roman collapses and is rushed to hospital where the Doctor runs a series of tests on him and finds traces of ZIP which Jane had injected him with to erase his memory. Crawford paid for all the tests to be run, but for some reason it doesn’t make Roman feel comfortable he’d done so.

Although Crawford is opening up to Roman and is treating him like a son, it’s very ambiguous. When Crawford later presents Roman with a pen to commemorate their working partnership, it’s creepy, like he has some sinister plot going on. Only time will tell.

Over drinks, Zapata tells Reade she’s in love with him. He’s astounded by her timing and asks her where were her feelings for him two years ago. She reminds him he’d told her it was the pain meds why he kissed her. He walks away, saying he’s engaged.
