The ABC drama’s Oct. 26 episode, titled “Danger Zone,” will be told almost entirely in flashback and chronicle the events leading up to Megan’s (Abigail Spencer) kidnapping in Iraq. In addition to Spencer, the standalone hour will also feature Kevin McKidd’s Owen, Martin Henderson’s Nathan and Kim Raver’s Teddy.

Will the Spinoff Break Up Ben and Bailey?

Grey’s Anatomy star Jason George has joined the cast of the Grey’s firefighter-focused spinoff as a series regular, according to The Hollywood Reporter. George will continue to be a series regular on the upcoming Season 14 of Grey’s — debuting Thursday, Sept. 28 at 8/7c on ABC — until the untitled spinoff begins production; he’s also expected to pop back into Grey’s from time to time. Ben’s storyline this season will set up his transition to the new spinoff series, which centers on a tight-knit group of Seattle firefighters.

NEW HIRINGS

Matthew Morrison is confirming what many Grey’s Anatomy fans had suspected: We have not seen the last of Jo’s abusive husband. His character, Paul Stadler, will play “a big role” in the ABC drama’s upcoming 14th season.

Morrison made his Grey’s debut as Paul in Season 13’s penultimate episode when Alex tracked down the fellow doc at a medical conference and imagined various incendiary scenarios involving his arch-nemesis. Ultimately, Karev walked away without confronting him, although the two did share an awkward moment jockeying for a cab (during which Paul seemed to recognize Alex).

Timeless‘ Abigail Spencer has landed a multi-episode arc on Grey’s Anatomy as Owen’s presumed-dead sister Megan Hunt, a character previously portrayed by Bridget Reagan.

Grey’s kicks off Season 14 with a two-hour episode on Thursday, Sept. 28.
